11u Lakeland Stars
The 11u Lakeland Stars won 1st Place in the Sandlots baseball tournament on July 1st.
The team earned the #2 seed in pool play on Saturday. They shut down Mundelein White 13-1, as Carson Sieler threw a 2-hitter, allowing only one run, while striking out 5 with no walks, and the offense had a balanced attack with 8 different players scoring.
Later they beat the McHenry Cobras 11-3 behind the arm of Parker Bronson (3 inn, 0 ER, 1 H, 4K, 0 BB) and the baserunning of leadoff hitter Kolton LeQuesne (2-3, 3 R, SB). Carson Sieler and Lucas Sandrik each scored 2 runs with 2 hits.
The Stars came out hot in the semi-final game, scoring 8 runs in the first inning vs the Grant Bulldogs, en route to a 16-6 victory. Lucas Sandrik led the offensive attack with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.
The team had to wait through a rain delay before the championship game vs the Wisconsin Wave, at Sandlots on Sunday night.
Parker Bronson was a workhorse again, giving up only 3 hits over 4 innings, and the Stars scored 7 runs in the 2nd inning to go on to win the championship 8-2.
The Stars outscored their opponents by a combined score of 48-12.

Lequesne was a terror on the base-paths all weekend, scoring 9 runs in 11 at-bats, with 6 stolen bases. Sieler and Sandrik led the Stars in batting, with a .555 average for the tournament. Seiler added 5 RBI and 4 SB, while Sandrik added 6 RBI and 3SB.
The team looks to be solid again in 2019.
