Panther Rookies Win 4 Titles

The Wilmot Panther Wrestling Club sent 13 first-year wrestlers to the 2020 Badger Beginner Tournament on Friday night at Badger High School.

The first-year Panther wrestlers made a strong showing with (4) champions and (4) runner-ups, with most of them in their first time ever competing in a live match.

Winning Championships for the Panthers were:

  • Mickinley Stemen – 100 lbs
  • Jack Dzierzanowski – 117 lbs
  • Adymn Bergum – 75 lbs
  • Ethan Point – 60 lbs

Panther 2nd Place finishers:

  • Finn Mc Neill – 61 lbs
  • Mason Mueller – 95 lbs
  • Luke Littel – 69 lbs
  • Laith Al Ghamdi – 61 lbs

Panther 3rd Place finisher=

  • Cory Bradshaw – 49 lbs

Panther 4th Place finishers:

  • Nolan Dargene – 89 lbs
  • Jax Adcock – 49 lbs
  • Lane Plants – 46 lbs
  • Gianni Defillippo – 50 lbs

Bristol’s Lane Plants (top) works for a pin against Dylan Neureuther in the 46-lb weight class. Plants showed some great offense and scored 10 points in the match.
Paddock Lake’s Ethan Point (top) wins his first round match-up by fall in 2:33. Point won the championship at 60 lbs.
Mickinley Stemen (top) scores back-points on Mukwonago’s Lucas Czerwinski as time runs out in the first period. She would go on to pin Czerwinski 22 seconds into the second period.

Salem’s Finn McNeill gets his hand raised after a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the second round. He won the first two matches of his career, and took 2nd place in the 61 lb weight class.
Jack Dzierzanowski (left) wins this first round match by fall. He was the champion of the 117 lb weight class.
