Konwent Dialed In at FAU
Salem’s Kayla Konwent is off to a red hot start in 2020.
The Badger senior, and 2019 All-American, is batting .615 (8 for 13) after 5 games in their season opening tournament down at Florida Atlantic University.
Konwent also had 5 walks in the tournament, which put her on base a whopping 72% of the time.
The team went 4-1 down at FAU:
- Lost 2-1 to Indiana State University
- Won 5-1 over Florida Atlantic University
- Won 8-0 over Bethune-Cookman University
- Won 8-1 over Northern Illinois University
- Won 4-0 over Bethune-Cookman University
Konwent said, “I’m feeling good. We definitely haven’t played our best softball yet, so that’s exciting. [We’re] learning how to communicate and adjust as people are in new/different roles. Other than that, I think it’s just a matter of knocking some dust off.”
Her Badgers play this weekend, in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge down in Chapel Hill, NC.
