Konwent Big 10 Player of the Year

Salem’s Kayla Konwent was just named the 2019 Big 10 Player of the Year. She is the first Wisconsin Badger to ever win the Big10 Player of the Year.

Konwent led all Big 10 hitters in Batting Average (.479), Slugging Percentage (.918), and On Base Percentage (.600).

She has also been named a national Player of the Year finalist by USA Softball, as her Batting Average ranks 3rd in the nation, On Base Percentage ranks 4th, and her Slugging Percentage ranks 5th in the country.

Konwent also set school records for most HRs in a season and total bases in a season.

The Badgers won their first round game 7-4, Thursday vs Iowa in the Big 10 Tournament. Konwent was 2-3 at the plate. The Badgers play today at 10am vs Ohio State.

Konwent ranks 3rd in the nation in Batting Average (.479), 4th in the nation in OBP (.600), and 5th in the nation in Slugging% (.918).
