Rose Leads Falcons
Seth Bayles was the biggest winner of the night.
Sandwiched around his win was a boy’s basketball game between Central and Wilmot. Central pulled away in the second half for a 68-55 victory.
Wilmot charged out of the gate to a 24-19 lead. London Glass and Kevin Sandman showed some amazing offensive flashes for the Panthers, and both were red hot shooting in the first half. Then Central decided to let Wilmot chase on defense, got picky with their shot selection, and took a 33-29 lead into the half.
In the second half, Jack Rose continued to show that he was the best player in the building. Central controlled the possession time. Rose (30 pts.) was hitting shots from inside and out, playing stellar defense, and creating space seemingly with ease.
At halftime, Central senior, Seth Bayles, was presented with a brand new, state-of-the-art racing wheelchair by longtime football coach Tyson Mengel. Bayles has a rare auto-immune disease, and is a competitive racer for myTEAM TRIUMPH. He is also a big fan of the Steelers and Pirates. Mengel helped raise money by competing against freshman girl’s golfer, Elle O’Reilly in an October 27th event at Brightondale Golf Course.
