Panther Wrestling Club Gears Up For State

  • The Panthers Wrestling Club is wrapping up it’s 3rd season, after replacing the now dissolved Stateline Wildcats. Last year the Panthers had 7 wrestlers qualify for the state tournament. Top returners include :
  • Joel Sullivan (7th grade) 57-8
  • William Du Chemin (4th grade) 66-19
  • Logan DeFillipo (7th grade) 54-24
  • Toby Patterson (8th grade) 35-18
  • Ben Spalla (3rd grade) 30-14
  • Hunter Thiemann (5th grade) 21-11
  • Jonathan Sandrik (4th grade) 19-18

Both Sullivan (113 lbs) and Du Chemin (64 lbs) won 1st place at the Sawdust City Slam, a USA Wrestling National Tournament, just a few weeks, ago on Dec. 30th.

The club has competed recently in tournaments at Waterford, Fox Lake, Antioch, Richmond, East Troy, and U-W Parkside.

Brock Griffin (top) gets physical with his opponent at the East Troy Youth Tournament. Griffin was a key 2-way beast on the Super Bowl winning featherweight football team.
