Head Coach, Brent Brenner,  said the defense held strong the rest of the way and credited the play of DL Jonathon Rainey, DT Reggie Brent, and MLB Brock Griffin.  Late in the game, Grayslake was driving to tie up the score.  The Colts had 1st and goal at the Panther 2-yard line.  On first down, Tyler Hall hammered the Grayslake RB, and he went out for the rest of the game.   On this goal line stand, the Jr Panthers got big plays from Jack Dzierzanowski, Talon Volbrecht, and Casey Mulcahy. Then On 4th down, Aiden Chapman intercepted a pass in the end zone to end the dangerous Grayslake threat.

Coach Brenner also had strong praise for QB Jack Gartner.  He said, “There was a lot of pressure on him to hold onto the ball.  It was very cold and wet out there, and he did a great job securing it in those conditions.”

The Jr Panthers with face Zion in the 3A Super Bowl this weekend.  The Super Bowl will be at 5pm Sunday at Carmel HS, in Mundelein.  The Jr Panthers played Zion in week two, and lost 6-0, after have a TD of their own called back on a rarely seen, assisting the runner penalty, for pushing the pile.  So this should be a great Super Bowl.

Keep up the hard work boys!
