Lady Panthers Advance

The Wilmot Panthers girl’s basketball team beat Central 71-58 in a quarter-final regional game on Tuesday at Wilmot.

Wilmot (11-12) will move on to play at Union Grove (18-4) in the regional semi-final on Friday night (7pm). The loss eliminates Central, and ends their season at 8-15.

The senior trio of Karina Leber, Julia Hickey, and Kenzi Ketterhagen charged out and scored 25 of Wilmot’s 40 points in the first half, as the Lady Panthers took a 40-29 lead into the break. Central could never close the gap in the second half, and Panther coach Jerod Boyd was able to rest the 6’3 Leber down the stretch.
